Yellowstone Float Trip

I was invited to join this group of regulars on a 4 day float trip on the Yellowstone and Madison Rivers in Montana. Awesome time! All six of us caught fish regularly which was impressive considering it was my first float trip and the beginning of my fly fishing experience. I had a few short practice sessions with my buddy Trent in Utah on a few weekend trips to our cabin before this trip.

The river was running really warm and they closed a section as we passed through to protect the fish from undue stress. I was told that as a whole the trip was a moderate success compared to other trips that the regular group of four had done, but I was extremely pleased. Can’t wait to do it again.
