Update: we’ve rebuilt the custom post templates (Trail Reports, Gear Reviews, Recipes) to have the ability to add some new functionality. It was a step back to take several forward. We’re getting closer. Ran into a problem yesterday with the Custom Post Templates. Those are the templated layouts for Trail Reports and Gear Reviews that you see on the Trail Sherpa site. We are trying to decide if they need to be redesigned or not. This is the last hurdle before we open up for beta testing. I’ll keep you updated.

Jessica’s been spending a lot of time and energy on the first two custom themes for Sherpa Sites that will be responsive by design. That means that the content and layout will automatically adjust based on the size of the viewing device. The layout for an iPad is different than for a smartphone for instance. We will be making a formal announcement on Wednesday for Sherpa Sites. The details are already on Trail Sherpa and we are inviting interested bloggers to pre-register. I think testing will last about 2 weeks which could give us a launch date around January 23rd.

    I planned to have a few testers so if you’re interested I will certainly take you up on it. We are finishing out some of the last elements now including the responsive web design for the first two themes. Did you take a look at the documentation on the main site? I think we’ve devised a very strong alternative to WP and Blogger.
