Hiking Website Design + Social Media Group
*** This group is sponsored by Vestor Logic
Trail Sherpa started as my passion project. My day job is running Vestor Logic, a web design and social media strategy firm that I started a few years ago. I created this group to help others with the technological aspects of telling their hiking stories online. I want this to be an ongoing conversation about web design and social media as it relates to hiking and backpacking web sites.

Interesting new tool that’s still in beta. I tried it out on the new hashtag we’ve been using lately: #TeamTrailSherpa. Gives you a very quick idea of how far your hashtag reaches. Anyone have a need for this besides us social media day job types?

This hiking photography Tumblr is the coolest thing happening in the hiking blogosphere right now. Bringing this functionality to Trail Sherpa could be a huge traffic generator. It requires two main components: a mechanism to submit cool photography and a way to “reblog” it on people’s individual pages/profiles/etc.
Fuck yeah,… -

What would you like to see in a hiking map plugin for trail reports? We’re considering building our own for TS members.

That’s a good troubleshooting doc and of course, our design team can help any bloggers if this is beyond the scope of their skills.
